The reading list for this year

The list is short on purpose. Two short stories a month, read aloud on the lawn, is enough for a circle that has not met in person yet. From February the circle is planned to meet on the second Saturday of every month at Sir Syed House, and the first two months are already chosen: one Kashmiri short story in translation, and one written in the original.

One slim novel goes on the list for the spring, and we will read it in three sittings of forty pages each. Nobody is expected to finish a book alone before turning up. If you miss a month, you pick the conversation back up in the next one.

Printed copies are shared on the lawn, and a spare set is posted to anyone who asks for one. Say in the group chat if you would rather read on a screen, and we will send the text that way instead.
