Six doors in, no test at the gate

Membership is open to students at AMU and friends beyond it. There is no fee and no interview. Pick the level of commitment that fits your 2026-27 schedule.

Ways in

Start as small as you like

The first five doors ask almost nothing. Move between them whenever your schedule changes.

01

Lowest: the group chat

Join the WhatsApp group and read along. Say salaam when ready.

02

One evening

Come to a showcase or an open sitting. No sign-up, no introduction needed.

03

One piece

Write something short, anonymously if you prefer. An editor helps.

04

Recurring, light

Join the reading circle. One meeting a month, short books.

05

A few hours

Help run an evening. Set the room, keep the tea coming, take photos with consent.

06

Real responsibility

Take on a role or lead an activity from September.

Who can join

Open to students at AMU and beyond

Kashmiri students at AMU are the heart of it. Kashmiris at other universities, young people in the Valley, alumni, and non-Kashmiri friends who respect the direction are all welcome at open gatherings.

The form beside this one is for AMU students. If you are elsewhere, write to us instead and we will add you to the group.

What we ask in return is plain: respect for others, discretion where it matters, and turning up when you said you would.

Privacy

A quiet way in

If you cannot be publicly linked with the collective, write privately to [email protected]. Your name appears nowhere, and your details stay in one inbox.

AMU student form

Introduce yourself

This form is for students at Aligarh Muslim University. Tell us a little about yourself and how you’d like to take part, and a member will reply within seven days.

Open the AMU membership form

Opens Google Forms in a new tab.

Not studying at AMU? Write to us instead. The inbox is open to students at other universities, to people in the Valley, and to alumni — we will add you to the group and tell you what is on.

Questions

Asked every term

Six plain answers before you send your note.

No. The membership form is for AMU students, but you are welcome at open gatherings either way. Students at other universities send essays, join the reading circle discussions, and start campus chapters — write to us and we will add you to the group.
