How our first evening will work

We have not run a single event yet, and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise on a website like this one. The collective has ten members, five activities with named leads, and an archive of writing. What it does not have yet is an evening that has actually happened.

The first one is planned for February 2027, and the plan is deliberately plain: a reading circle on the Sir Syed House lawns at five in the afternoon, two short stories read aloud, and an hour afterwards for the arguing. Later in the term we will add a discussion night on the Kashmiri Sufi saints, and a culture showcase where members put on something of their own. No date is fixed yet, and when one is, it will go on the gatherings page with a calendar link.

Nobody needs to sign up and nobody needs to prepare. If you have a poem, a story, or a dish you want to share, bring it on the night; if you would rather just listen, that is a full and respectable way to spend an evening with us.
